Terms & Conditions

Tropical Beauty kindly asks that you read and agree to the following terms and conditions before sending your enquiry. Tropical Beauty encourages you to read the following User Terms carefully as it is a legal document and, upon paying your booking fee, you agree to be bound by these User Terms.

It is the responsibility of the client who books to understand, agree and be responsible for all booking conditions, including all payments being made by the specified dates.

  • Booking fees are non refundable under any circumstances. This includes, but not limited to, situations where the booking and/or wedding is cancelled due to personal relationship breakdown, financial, family situations and unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to: health pandemics, changes to regulations, health warnings, weather events, travel limitations, venue closures.
  • A $100 booking fee must be paid in order to secure your wedding day. This booking fee will be deducted from your final invoice​.
  • The booking fee is your
    booking retainer, which means we turn away all other jobs during your appointment time. Due to our
    high demand for bookings, we are regularly booked months, if not years, in advance. By paying a
    booking fee you are legally bound by this document..
  • Your booking date is not secure until a booking fee has been received. No dates will be held without a booking fee. 
  • Bookings are based on the information you provide so please be as accurate as possible. Following the booking fee payment, invoices will not be reduced. If a member of your party cancels, you are welcome to replace their spot with somebody else. 
  • Parking must be provided for and paid for by the client. As Shae carries a lot of
    heavy equipment, valet parking at all hotels is a must and will need to be arranged prior to the
    wedding date.  If parking is not made available on-site, parking fees will be added to the invoice. 
  • For all bookings, the full remaining balance is due 7 days ahead of your booking date or in cash on the day, upon Shae’s arrival. 
  • Trials take place at Shae’s Brinsmead studio space. We respectfully ask that no more than one extra guest accompanies the client having the trial. Trial bookings are strictly set to 2 hours. 

Bookings:

Bookings are subject to availability; please contact Shae to confirm availability. In order to secure your booking you will be required to pay a non-refundable booking fee, which is deducted from the total cost of the booking and will not be refundable under any circumstances, including unforeseen circumstances. On location bookings require a minimum booking of $250. That means, if it’s just you, your invoice will be minimum $250. In studio bookings do not require a minimum. For Bridal on-location bookings on Friday, Saturday & Sundays, Shae requires a minimum booking of 4 people.

Tropical Beauty does not hold any bookings until the booking fee has been received.

Payments:

The client scheduling the booking will be responsible for full payment of all services in the event that other people in the wedding party/group do not pay their portion. For all bookings, the full remaining balance is due 7 days ahead of your booking date or in cash on the day, upon Shae’s arrival.

 

If you are having difficulty viewing, receiving or paying an invoice, please contact Shae immediately.

Bookings which are not paid in full by the due date risk termination and Shae will not provide services on the day. We will try to reach you to remind you of payment via your email and/or phone number you have provided.

Please note that service will not be provided without payment in full, prior to the day of the wedding unless confirmation has been given you would like to pay cash on the day.

Refunds: 

Tropical Beauty does not offer refunds for any completed services at any stage. If you are in any way dissatisfied, the onus is on the client to notify Shae whilst on location.

Cancellations: 

Please confirm your numbers carefully at the time of your booking, as we don’t offer any reductions at any time for makeup services. Should someone in your wedding/group booking cancel at any time they are welcome to be replaced with someone else, e.g. a guest or relative. You will be charged the full amount of the service since the booking duration on the requested date has been specifically allocated to you which results in lost earnings/bookings for us. It is your responsibility as the client to communicate and make the other parties aware of our rates and terms of service.

Cancellations will result in loss of the booking fee. Booking fees are non refundable under any circumstances. ​Pricing:

Please note that all prices are subject to change. If you have already paid a booking fee then you retain the rates invoiced at the time of booking. 

Travel Fees:

A travel fee may be incurred depending on distance required to travel. While Shae does not charge for travel within Cairns, including Palm Cove, anything further than that may incur a travel fee. Submit an enquiry for more details.

 

​Timing:

Time management is of the essence therefore adherence to booking times is critical in ensuring that Tropical Beauty delivers the service you expect and will be strictly adhered to. Prior to having makeup applied or hair styled please ensure you and your party are prepared, to avoid leaving the chair whilst we are working. Please ensure teeth are cleaned, you have been to the toilet and contact lenses are applied (if applicable), before sitting in the chair. Also make sure you are make-up free, (Shae will prep your skin.) An additional $30 blow wave fee will be added to the invoice, should any client arrive on the day with wet hair, as this will increase the time required for styling. Should unforeseen circumstances arise, the onus is on the bride/client to advise Shae as soon as practical. Tropical Beauty is not responsible if desired completion time is not met due to client/group/wedding party delays. 

Tropical Beauty will notify the client of her arrival time one to two weeks prior to the booking.  If Tropical Beauty is set back due to delays caused by you or your group/wedding party, and if Shae is requested and required to overstay, (provided Shae is able to stay pending our other appointments), the client will be charged $50 per half hour exceeded per artist required to overstay the appointment in half hour increments only, (min. $50).

If you have a particular schedule, please advise this at the time of booking or as soon as possible so Shae can take this into account when allocating bookings.

Extra people wanting services:

If any additional people require makeup on the day, but do not have a booking, this is not normally a problem and payment can be in cash at the time of the appointment prior to Tropical Beauty starting the service. It is recommended to give Shae notice if others in attendance want makeup so arrangements can be made. Tropical Beauty recommends that numbers for makeups are confirmed in advance to avoid potential disappointment where we may not be able to cater to extras.

​Satisfaction:

Shae guarantees the quality of the products, her passion and expertise in her work. Shae wants you to feel the most beautiful you have ever felt in your life. Whilst it is not compulsory to have a trial session of your makeup or hair, Shae encourages you to attend her trial studio so you can feel pampered, see how your makeup will look and discuss the elements of your day. This will ensure your look is perfectly matched to your vision, along with addressing all your needs and any concerns. Most importantly, Shae wants you to enjoy the ultimate experience and feel the most beautiful you have ever felt in your life. 

Health & Safety:

Tropical Beauty is not, under any circumstances, responsible for any allergic reactions to products used. The onus is on the client to give advance notification to Tropical Beauty if you or any of your group/wedding party have particular hypersensitivity that you are aware of. Should you bring your own product that you are familiar with, then Tropical Beauty would be happy to use the product. We cannot make guarantees surrounding quality for product(s) you supply for us to use.

To ensure the health of Shae, her tools, team and clients, Tropical Beauty reserves the right to refuse service to clients displaying contagious viral symptoms including but not limited to cold sores, conjunctivitis, eye styes/cysts, open wounds/cuts on the face and neck, head lice, flu or cold like symptoms, vomiting, diarrhoea or rash. Shae must be informed as a matter of urgency, should any clients be displaying such symptoms. This is a precaution taken in order to ensure non-contamination of my
kit and brushes, despite the fact all items are sanitised between clients.

Medical Disclaimer:

By making a booking with us you acknowledge and accept this policy and release us from any liability if such a situation should arise.

Exclusions:

Junior makeups that have been offered on a complimentary basis are for girls aged 12 years or younger and only include face moisturize, eye shimmer, powder blush and lip balm/gloss application only. Age appropriate makeup is for girls aged 13 – 15 years includes light foundation and concealing, blush, mascara, light eyeshadow, highlighter and lip gloss only. Any other required applications will be charged for at the current “per person” or “exclusive” rate, depending on how you booked us.

Full makeup includes the usual applications to the face area and neck. Any other required applications will be charged for and quoted prior to application in the areas not included in our usual service, including but not limited to the back, chest and remainder of the body, particularly where extensive works and product applications are required.

Should special or tattoo coverage be required please advise Shae in advance so this can be discussed for time and cost to be quoted.

​Other:

In the rare event that Shae is unavailable to attend the appointment to provide makeup services on the scheduled booking date, Shae will make every attempt to find a similar calibre artist for the client. In this situation only, will the booking fee be refunded or transferred to the new artist.  However, the limit of liability is a full refund of all monies already paid for the hair and/or makeup for the affected date only.

Shae does her best to ensure the products used at a trial are also used on the booking day but please be aware that there are situations beyond Shae’s control that may prevent this, such as a supplier discontinuing a product or a supplier delay in restocking a product. Shae will always aim to replace the product with something similar.

Clients acknowledge that Tropical Beauty may use any photographs or images taken for portfolio, website and any promotions as way of updating our portfolio and demonstrating our work to future prospective brides and clients. Please let us know in advance by written email if you do not wish to be photographed or if you are not happy for us to use your images for social media purposes. We are happy to be photographed on your wedding day however, any photo image incorporating our team in action, or our hair and/or make-up design, on the internet or on any other advertisement, must make reference or credit us as the hair and/or makeup artists.

The client understands that once they pay the booking fee, they are legally bound by this document.
